2017 – 2023

Owner’s Representative Services

Home renovation of a 120-year-old gilded age home in Tuxedo Park, NY.

~18,000 sq. ft. complete gut-renovation of the home

Working closely with the Owner and Architect in administration and project oversight, contract authoring, payment applications including monitoring and approving and accounting for 145 independent venders and contractors. Daily project oversight of work in progress. Brian Gitt, LLC also worked closely with Tuxedo Village officials and owner’s attorney and accountants during the project.

Parking Lot Extension, Amphitheater, Site lighting.

Owner's Representative Services- Work with owner and design engineer creating plans, specifications logistics; create addenda, generate bid interest, oversee bid process, document RFIs, analyses bids and recommend awardee to owner, oversee work on site daily, review and negotiate changes, review and approve contractor requisitions, oversee project closeout.



2016

Owner’s Representative Services

Mid-State Lumber of New York

Construction of - site work, three steel warehouse buildings and office space ~40,000 sq. ft.

Worked with architect and engineer suggesting value engineering items, input into specification process; generate bid interest, schedule, negotiate bids, help write contracts, administer contracts on behalf of owner, represent the owner’s interest with municipalities, utilities and agencies owner purchased materials, aid architect with QC oversight, project commissioning and closeout.



2014-2015

Consulting Services

Warwick Grove Company, LLC

Working with a company partner and the on-site project manager overseeing grade controls, site utilities, house foundations and plan review for both site work and house design / construction.  Authoring site-specific management systems with the goal of increasing project quality control. Working closely with third party consultants and leading in problem solving issues on an as needed basis.


2013-2014

Construction Business Consulting

Tri-State Roofing and Siding, Worked with the owner helping to design both back office business systems and field systems. Areas of focus; marketing, office accounting systems, and general organizational consulting.  Aided in office relocation, information system purchases and upgrades, as well as integration into existing systems.


2012-2013

Provided pre-construction & construction services to Trigen Builder's Group, Highland Falls, NY -project management services including organization of bid docs, analysis of bids, writing contracts, project scheduling, submittal preparation and review.  This work was undertaken for Trigen's vertical construction sub-contract at the West Point Military Academy. Relationship ongoing


2011

Provided pre-construction services to Granite Associates Liberty, NY – pre-construction services for two road projects and one septic project, project value - > $2 million


2008-2010

Provided construction administration services to Granite Associates Liberty, NY - Organized and oversaw the construction of a 28,000 square foot maintenance facility - consulted on various other projects

 


2004-2008

VP Special Projects, LeylandAlliance, LLC- worked as a consultant with the COO and Executive VP Construction, on leading edge projects to advance the organization

2002-2004

VP Construction, LeylandAlliance, LLC- led a team of construction professionals in organizing the construction department at LeylandAlliance.  Tasks: product design, estimating, project proforma, scheduling, personnel, field organization, QC, QA.  I retired from this position to become VP Special Projects/consultant ? Project size > $100 million

 

1987-2002

As founder and president of Paceline Construction Corp., a CM firm located in Warwick, NY. We successfully completed commercial construction projects within the Hudson Valley.  These projects included school, library and hospital work.  An example of our hospital work is renovation projects at Horton Medical Center –main campus and Crystal Run Facility- as well as installations of diagnostic equipment such as a linear accelerator.  We also installed an MRI for the Middletown Radiology Group.

On commercial projects we sometimes worked as agency and at risk CMs.   Paceline also worked as construction claims consultants providing expert reports and witness testimony.  During this period I continued course work in engineering and CM management disciplines.  Project size - $1 million - $20 million

I sold my interest in Paceline in 2002

 

1983-1987

Founded and served as President of R & D Oil, an oilfield management and oil & gas production company, located in NW Pennsylvania.  I sold the assets of the firm in 1988

 

1980-1983

Held the position of Field manager for Interpen Drilling, an oil well drilling and oil & gas production company located in NW Pennsylvania

 

1973-1980

Owned a residential and commercial GC contracting firm in the Hudson Valley where I was engaged in residential construction and three/four lot subdivisions.  I sold the assets of the firm in 1980

 

1970-1973

Worked as carpenter from apprentice through journeyman.  Obtained a working knowledge of framing, roofing, finish woodwork and casework working as trade contractor.

 

1968-1970

Worked as deckhand on sailing vessels, sailing throughout the western hemisphere
